Noteworthy in Carmel

That sacred time of year — sweater weather — is upon us. We’re loving the crisp morning air, the crunch of leaves, and Howling Pumpkin coffee (more on that later). This season, we’re also head over heels for local boutiques and eateries. From cashmere sweaters to eucalyptus-scented bath goods, the finds in Carmel’s shops do not disappoint. Check out our 12 favorite spots.

While you’re out and about, pop into Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream. Play ring toss with the kids before sitting down at a picnic table to devour a “Big Ugly Burger.” For a more serene setting, check out Sophia Square. This charming courtyard is just behind Vitality Bowls. And don’t forget to explore the Monon Trail! Rent a bike from the Carmel Bike Share Program and pedal to each of Kit’s picks. You won’t want to miss a thing, and you can store your purchases in the white bike basket.

Vitality Bowls

So, we’re kinda, maybe, sorta in love with Vitality Bowls. These guys are redefining the fast-casual restaurant sector every day. When it comes to acai, we’re not ones to say “no.” Crave on the Dragon Bowl, which mixes up a base of pitaya, mango juice, coconut milk and more, with toppings including kiwi, almonds, goji berries and honey. Drool.
